Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho plans to drop Romelu Lukaku for Sunday's clash with Everton.
The Manchester Evening News says Mourinho is set to drop Lukaku for Manchester United's Premier League fixture against Everton.
Mourinho was supportive of Lukaku at his pre-match press conference and joked if he rested the Belgian he would have to play assistant manager Michael Carrick up front. However, the early suggestion is Mourinho is prepared to relegate Lukaku to the bench.
There could be an ulterior motive behind the early team leak, however. Mourinho was reported my furious the starting XI was posted on the MEN website last week and it was claimed the United manager had ordered a 'mole hunt' into the leaks.
Given United do not kick-off against Everton until 4pm on Sunday, the extremely early team news could have been deliberately planted in an attempt to smoke out the 'mole'.
