Manchester United are confident that Chelsea long-term target Anthony Martial will sign a new contract ahead of the January transfer window.
According to The Evening Standard, the RedDevils believe Frenchman is keen to agree on an extension to his deal, following his recent form despite strong interest from Chelsea.
The report claimed that the Red Devils will have to top the £150,000-per-week they have given Luke Shaw recently.
A number of top European teams were strongly rumoured with Martial in the summer and may make another approach for the Frenchman during the January transfer window, or at the end of the current campaign.
Martial has found back of the net twice for Man United against the Blues at the weekend, as his side held Maurizio Sarri’s club to a 2-2 draw.
The striker was thought to have a rather fractious relationship with the Reds boss Jose Mourinho, which was prompting him to turn down the chance to extend his current contract with the club.
That appears to have changed now with Mourinho picking him over Alexis Sanchez who has struggled at Old Trafford since his transfer from Arsenal.
