De Gea breaks silence amidst future uncertainity!

JOSE MOURINHO YESTERDAY SAID HE IS NOT CONFIDENT ABOUT THE FACT WHETHER DAVID DE GEA WILL EXTEND THE CONTRACT OR NOT. SPANISH SHOT-STOPPER FINALLY BREAKS SILENCE AMIDST ALL THIS CONTRACT UNCERTAINTY.
David De Gea has been a saviour for Manchester United in recent times. His brilliance was the main reason why Manchester United finished second in the league last season. However, with Jose Mourinho admitting that he is not confident whether De Gea will extend his contract or not.
David de Gea has said that his focus remains on his on-field performances amid uncertainty over his Manchester United future. The former Atletico Madrid’s current deal runs out in the summer. United do have an option to extend it by a further year, which something that has so far failed to materialise. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admitted that he is not optimistic that the goalkeeper will pen a new deal with the club. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports ahead of United’s meeting with Everton on Sunday.
De Gea said he wants to avoid any distractions over his future. He said, “What matters is the team and all of us being focused on what we need to focus on, which is winning games, rather than contracts or any topics that can be a distraction. What matters is focusing on football.”
De Gea further said, “We have an important game against Everton and we have some big fixtures over the coming months. I think that’s what matters, rather than thinking about anything else. I’ve been here for many seasons, as we’ve said. I’ve been at the club for eight seasons now. I’m very happy here. I always feel that warmth from the fans and everyone who works at the club.”

It’s too early to give any verdict on De Gea’s future. TheSpaniard needs an injection of confidence. He didn’t have the greatest start to the season so far. Any contract talks and other clubs interested in signing him won’t help improve his game.
